Good Morning Commiefornia #2
Giving you the headlines that make California Commiefornia
So I did an internet search on “What was it like living in the USSR?” Here were a couple of my answers:
“Housing was also a significant issue, with many people living in communal apartments (kommunalki) and sharing limited space with strangers.”
“Daily routines were marked by long lines, waiting, and queuing for basic necessities like food, bread, and milk.”
“Meat was a rare luxury, and many people relied on canned goods or dried legumes.”
“Soviet culture was heavily influenced by propaganda and ideology.”
Mind you these are only 4 notes, but I thought I’d look at them and compare them to some of the headlines going on here in California.
#1 – HOUSING
“Housing was also a significant issue, with many people living in communal apartments (kommunalki) and sharing limited space with strangers.”
Again, a good book to read that gives you an idea of what the housing situation was like was “My Sergei” written by Ekaterina Gordeeva. In the book, she talks about how Sergei Grinkov, a world class figure skater threatens to quit figure skating for the USSR unless he’s given an apartment and a car.
So what is Housing like in California? Here are some headlines from 2024:
California Official Can’t Afford to Buy Home, Slams ‘Insane’ Housing Market

California is building fewer homes. The state could get even more expensive.
California Homeowner’s Crises: Homeowners getting insured right out of their homes
MY TAKE: It is not easy to buy a home in California. It is not uncommon to find a home filled with 20 or more people from the same family. You might have grandma, the parents, and their children plus a sister or brother or two living under the same roof. How do I know? I answer the phones for 911 in Los Angeles. By making housing unfordable, more families have to live together. Here’s an example: Ghost Ship Fire in San Francisco. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_Ship_warehouse_fire
With housing prices continuing to rise and insurance prices skyrocketing, housing is becoming more unfordable in California and it’s forcing families to stay together longer in a single family home. Much like how Russians had to live in the USSR, with adult children still living with aging parents while they waited 10 years for their own apartment.
#2 – FOOD
“Daily routines were marked by long lines, waiting, and queuing for basic necessities like food, bread, and milk.”
“Meat was a rare luxury, and many people relied on canned goods or dried legumes.”
So, what’s it like buying Food in California
Californians face higher costs for goods and services than before the pandemic despite inflation slowing

Why Californians are spending more on groceries than the rest of Americans
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/why-californians-spending-more-groceries-180023690.html
Reports show that Californians pay more for groceries than any other state
MY TAKE: I think it all starts with energy. This state imports clean energy from other states rather than relying on the Natural Gas deposits, coal, and oil we have. Any gasoline sold in California has be refined here. Truckers transport food, requiring gasoline, and so it’s a tumble down affect.
Long lines at LA food distributions after emergency food stamps end

In California, you pay the rent first, or the mortgage, then the utility bill, then gas for your car. At that time you’re probably out of money so it’s time to go to the food bank, where you know you can get food. Heck, LA County Board of Supervisors host a rotating food bank every quarter. And you aren’t getting any meat at a food bank in California either. Gooding to food banks is how a good portion of the working poor in California help to manage their budget.
#3 – CULTURE AND PROPAGANDA
“Soviet culture was heavily influenced by propaganda and ideology.”
UC Riverside DEI Guardians Persecute Professor for objecting to racial hiring preferences.
California Attorney General Rob Bonta Wants to Turn shoppers into spies. Bonta urged consumers to report stores that lack gender neutral toy and child care sections.

Top Democrats say they won’t just “Trump Proof” California – they’ll make it affordable again.
https://calmatters.org/politics/capitol/2024/12/california-legislature-rivas-mcguire-newsom/
MY TAKE: Isn’t that rich. California democrats are going to make California affordable again? Trump has been out of office for 4 years and this state is unfordable period – from homes, to gas, to food. Remember the Stasi and KBG encouraging neighbors to turn in your neighbors? The “what” you turn your neighbors in are very different – faking a ration card to gender neutral toy sections, but the concept is the same. And DEI is how communist laws are enforced.
IN SUMMARY:
Communism affects the totality of the society - from the housing, which is unaffordable, from the food, to the energy/utilities, to the money pits such as the California Coastal Commission and the California Air Resources Board, the people of a communist state go from work, to home, sleeping and eating to doing it all over again, with little time to develop their own personal interests. Take a look around you and just observe. I don’t go to the movies anymore. I need to save up to go to the movies. A family of 4 is close to 100 bucks so I just don’t want to go see any movie – I want to see a special one, and I’m certainly not going to see a DEI movie.
